Amanah.com Fake User Experience Comments

As much as I care about the integrity of the reviews, I also care about the integrity of the comments, and while I appreciate users who are willing to share their own experience with the provider (since the 96MB review has many limitations as listed here), I am also strongly against any business who are trying to post “reviews” in order to make a fake positive image of themselves and recently I have seen quite a few reviews posted on 96MB’s website that are suspicious at best:

Looking at these comments posted, first it surprised me that all but one of these reviews are posted by users who are using Yahoo! email accounts, although clearly all of them seems to have a legitimate business running.

Digging further down, all the IPs used to post these reviews are belonging to various data centres and proxy companies, for example, the last IP belongs to Racksrv and the second last one belongs to Overplay.Net, which is a UK VPN provider.

Ez2phone.com is registered using obviously fake whois data (the address is listed in London with a telephone number that belongs to British Columbia, Canada):

and coincidentally is the owner of Yap2Phone as well:

Also, apparently yap2phone.com is a new business of ez2phone.com:

Furthermore, the comment posted by “Tomas Burdok” and “Nezar Freeny” are apparently from the same IP block (differing only at the last digit of the IP), and Nezar Freeny’s name is actually listed on the 100tb.co’s registration data:

And Nezar Freeny, by “coincidence”, is also the owner of Amanah as listed by the whois data:

And of course, by “coincidence” again, the reviews in exact same wording have been shown up in exactly the same order in another review site and were even posted on exactly the same day:

In conclusion, I just want to say that although I appreciate business owners coming out and defend their own business, posting fake reviews really tells me more about the integrity of the business owner more than anything else. I wish Amanah, through this post, would be able to learn a lesson or two and really spend time on providing the best services rather than building the fake good reviews that will do more harm than good.

Of course, as a side note, the reviews have been marked as spam and will never be shown on 96MB.com.

    • That is actually my favorite part, he actually used his REAL name and his own business website as the URL, I mean, come on, I am sure a third-grader could do something better. 🙂

  1. Amanah claim to have over 50k customers.. Yet when I ring up technical support it’s always Nezar Freeney that takes the call.. This company has always been suss.. Even more proof I guess. Shame on them! Great detective work!

  2. I have actually found Amanah to be a really good company. They have gone out of their way to provide us with great customer service. We have had no issues with Amanah. They are very knowledgable and I would recommend.

  3. Hey Guys, I work at Amanah. I can tell you those fake reviews were not sanctioned. We had hired this discount marketing company to do some SEO and marketing work. They burned us pretty good in a few other ways too. They were supposed to solicit legitimate reviews from some of our customers but I guess they decided that was too hard or something.

We don’t have 50,000 customers, but we do have a good number. 50k is however about the number of websites hosted on our servers, some of which you might recognize like pingdom.com, zipdj.com and hidemyass.com . We aren’t trying to be the biggest hosting provider, we actually have a nice niche offering high bandwidth 100 TB bandwidth up to 300 TB, the only ones in Canada.

  4. Ah come on Amanah support worker. The company you work for is supposedly a million dollar a year company if not more. Why would you hire a discount marketing company for seo and marketing seo work… This makes it even more fishy for me and I may recommend no vpn access through your servers from now on. shady shady shady.

  5. I read an article that this company doesn’t pay for marketing or advertising. And getting burned is probably why. They don’t believe in marketing or advertising, so that they can spend their money on keeping already big customers.

  6. We love Amanah Tech. From Canada. CHECK them out before hating online from someone who has probably not even used the service!

  7. We love Amanah Tech. From Canada. CHECK them out before hating online from someone who has probably not even used the service! GET OVER YOURSELF it’s an amazing business regardless and top.quality

    • Hi Kate,

Thanks for your comments. All of 96MB.com reviews written by me are based on VPS that I have personally tested. Furthermore, this is not an review, but simply an article stating some of the facts that I have observed which lead me to have some suspicion regarding the integrity of the provider. I am not sure if they provide “top quality” services however I am sure many business owners will look for other factors when entrusting the server providers with their data.

If you have any further facts/comments feel free to post them here. Also just a friendly reminder that your domain is about to expire. Also I’d appreciate if you could post your comments in one block rather than typing on your mobile phone and send one sentence at a time. Thanks a lot for visiting 96MB.com and posting your thoughts.
