Anthony emailed me a long time ago before InceptionHosting even started to offer hosting in the continental US for a review on their Phoenix node, however I was too busy with all other stuff in life (if you have noticed recently, my posting rate on 96MB is decreasing drastically) until Anthony basically gave up waiting for me on that review (sorry Anthony!) and asked me to review the new node he set up in Netherlands. Unfortunately, although I have done the data collection work like months ago, I did not get a chance to write this review until now. Therefore, without further delay, let’s take a look at how the new service is doing. Note that this won’t be a full review since Inception Hosting has been featured quite a few times on 96MB (more specifically here and here) and therefore I will only focus on the recent changes as Read More

VPS Review at April 7th, 2012.
Back in November, DotVPS was featured in LEB for a really sweet deal of getting a 512MB dedicated memory (1024MB burstable memory) VPS for under 5 USD per month. The best part? The Netherland location has a 1Gbps unmetered bandwidth. Yes, I have to say although I have not been in the Low End VPS community for a long time, this is, as far as I can remember, the first(second at most) time that I have seen a 512MB unmetered bandwidth VPS for under 5 USD per month. Little surprise that their stock vanished in just one day. Since then, there were several “incidents” happened to them, such as understaffed, and died hard disks at various times. Nonetheless, Jack has added a few more stocks in the days after the initial stock ran dry and I have decided to pick one up to see how well it works for me. Read More

OK, so I have had some fun in doing the review for QualityServers (which was completed unscheduled), now it is back to the schedule again. Flipping through the list, I realised I have promised circus more than a month ago for a review on EDIS.at, which I have not done so yet, so here we go. General Information and Set Up Being an Austrian company, EDIS for sure have enjoyed quite a bit of freedom in the online contents as per William (who is now working for EDIS), another strength with their services is the fact that they are using Linux VServer and actually have their own control panel, which seems to be an indication of they know what they are doing (since Linux VServer is much harder to set up and maintain compare to the standard virtualization platforms such as OpenVZ and Xen), but obviously, it could also be Read More

VPS Review at October 2nd, 2011.
There are definitely not that many providers offering unmetered services and is within the low-end budget type of range, a few of them which claimed to do has either proven not to be the case. However, Alvotech was daring enough to offer such services at a very low price and yet still received quite a few great comments about the services they provide. Is it really as good as many people have claimed them to be? Let’s find out. General Information and Set Up By default, Alvotech’s website is in Deutsch, which is understandable since they are, after all, German company. They do have a toggle on their home page for those who are not that efficient with German, although I am not sure how many people will complain when they have to click on an American flag to see the English version: Jokes aside, unlike many of the other Read More

VPS Review at August 23rd, 2011.
Recently, one of my earlier reviews for Inception Hosting was featured on LowEndBox.com, although I was excited and honoured that 96MB.com could receive such great recognition from one of the leading websites in the low end VPS community, it also get me curious about Inception Hosting. It has been more than two months since I last (and first) reviewed their VPS services and Anthony and Inception Hosting seems to have done pretty well recently, so how are they doing right now? Let’s take a look. General Information and Set Up To make it comparable to my previous review, I signed up once again on their VPS Lite package, which, for 8.99 Euros per month, would give you the following specifications: Although with current discount code that Anthony have made available here, you are looking at about 4.50 Euro (about 6.50USD) per month. It is good to know that their Client Read More
