New Domain Name
As some of you probably know, I have recently bid for a domain on WHT and it is:
FindMyVPS.com
After a week of waiting, finally the domain is under my Cloudflare account but other than redirecting visitors to 96MB.com, it is not really doing anything major at the moment.
Since you guys are the most important parts that supports my work, I am once again, open for ideas on what I should do with this domain. Here are some of the options:
1. Just let it points to 96MB.com
2. Rebrand 96MB.com to become FindMyVPS.com since the domain contains keywords that are relevant to the blog
3. Make it the name of the new forum that we have discussed about that is currently at the under construction/sub-beta stage. (I know I should not talk about a piece of work when it is not done, but I am definitely looking for ideas on the design and sub-forums that you’d like to add.)
4. Someone has mentioned to me about building a low end VPS and provider database type of website. However unfortunately I am not a really good PHP programmer nor have enough time to do the task, but if someone is interested in helping me out, this could definitely be helpful!
And nope, I do not plan to sell it and nope, please do not ask me to start another blog, as some of you have mentioned, I am already slowing done my posting pace with posting reviews.
Any ideas/suggestions? Please kindly comment here or send me an email at admin AT 96mb DOT com.

Combine 2, 3 and 4
I think it would be great to have a simple form that users could enter requirements & budget etc that then got shot off to a list of hosts to respond too much like the WHT paid hosting request form.
A forum would be good too
@Anthony: Actually I was just browsing on LET today and noticed one of the users had a pretty cool selectable LEB tables, unfortunately my Firefox crashed afterwards and I lost the link, I’ll let you know once I found it. Thanks a lot for your kind suggestions!
IMO 96mb.com is quite unique name for a blog, it’s a catchy domain for tech geeks, and that’s a plus. That was the reason I’m visiting this blog at the first time. So, number 3 would have my vote.
Cheers!
@Andri: Thanks a lot! I honest have to say I love 96MB.com as a domain name, and I’d definitely keep it and buy it for as long as I can
96mb.com is a catchy domain for a tech blog, so I vote for number 3.
Wow, I called you out a long time ago and you finally got the picture? Good luck catching up when you’re so behind the game and looks like when LowEndAdmin left, your traffic dropped tremendously. Don’t become dependent on other sites for traffic
I believe the new domain name is a bizzare and kind of dumb, so I am surprised you considered it’s even worth “bidding” on it.
“I have lost my VPS, has anyone seen it?”
“Find my VPS”, what? “I have so many VPSes I even lose some of them at times, so I need help finding them?”
“Find my” means you search for something that was already yours, you just misplaced it.
96mb is perfect and charming and reminds of the old times where people wishing an affordable VPS had to deal with <96MB of RAM plans.
I read this thread yesterday.
Today I could not resist myself posting here because of an interesting reason.
I just acquired domains makemyvps.com and makemyvps.net
Very similar to what OP booked, does anybody think these domains are any good?
Any suggestions on how these domains can be used?
thanks in advance
Another vote for 96mb.com – it is indeed very eye-catching for the audience.
As for the keywords in the domain name… it is certainly useful, but not THAT useful. An old domain with an established site is worth much more in terms of SEO than a freshly started site.
